Optimus
What it does:
Highly concentrated conditioner – removes chlorine, chloramine, halogens, and detoxifies heavy metals found in tap water.
Detoxifies ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate into a safe form that can be removed by the biofilter.
Buffered – will not negatively affect pH.
When to use it:
Use Optimus to treat new water during a water change and when setting up a new aquarium.
Use alongside Satus when cycling a new aquarium to control ammonia and nitrite levels, thereby preventing ‘new tank syndrome’.
Can be dosed up to 5x in an emergency to rapidly detoxify nitrite.
Satus
What it does:
Satus contains NT Labs’ innovative ‘Satus Organism’, which is capable of rapidly removing ammonia without relying on the traditional, slower nitrifying cycle.
Working under both aerobic and anaerobic conditions, the ‘Satus organism’ can also degrade organic compounds which bacteria cannot. It has a higher metabolic rate that provides faster breakdown of organic wastes to prevent them building up in the aquarium.
Satus also contains a concentrated unique blend of heterotrophic and autotrophic organisms, including aerobic and anaerobic nitrifying bacteria that rapidly remove harmful ammonia and nitrite by converting them into nitrates, and will not produce hydrogen sulphide. This process prevents toxic ‘new tank syndrome’ providing a safer environment for your fish. Satus is harmless to all aquatic species including plants and cannot be overdosed.
Satus rapidly accelerates the maturing of new aquarium systems.
When to use it:
When setting up a new aquarium, Satus should be used for a 7 day course. Provided it is used for the full 7 days, fish can be added at any point.
Satus should be used alongside Optimus: when introducing new fish, when performing water changes, and after treating the aquarium with medication.
Plantus
What it does:
Plantus is a complete fertiliser for your freshwater aquatic plants. It contains all macro and micronutrients needed for optimum plant health and growth.
The macro and micronutrients are balanced in a way to prevent algae growth in an aquarium of healthy plants when supported with sufficient lighting and CO2 where required.
The formulation of Plantus is based on the Estimative Index concept for dosing, where plant nutrients and vital trace elements are provided in abundance. Plant growth is limited by the least available nutrient, so by providing these in excess, plant growth is maximised. The unused nutrients are then removed from the system during a water change.
Signs of improved growth and new leaves can take up to 4 weeks to show, existing leaves may not rejuvenate and may be shed by the plant during this period.
If algae starts to develop, cut dosing by 50% and increase frequency of water changes until the algae clears. Gradually build dosing back up to recommended levels.
Plantus can be used with or without CO2 and is all fish, shrimp, and filter safe.
When to use it:
For general upkeep of current plants: 1 pump / 40L weekly during regular maintenance.
To promote plant growth in moderately planted aquariums: 1 pump / 40L daily. Ensure to perform a minimum 30% water change weekly.
For high tech, very heavily planted aquariums with CO2 injection, use the Estimative Index method: Up to 5 pumps / 40L, maximum 4 times a week. Ensure to perform a minimum 30% water change weekly.
For aquariums smaller than 40L, halve the dosage frequency.
